Monthly Member Highlight: Jessica Du Quesne from the American Cancer Society

Each month Women In Networking randomly selects one lady from our monthly roster to highlight as our Monthly Member Highlight. This month, Jessica Du Quesne from the American Cancer Society is our winner! This was Jessica's first Women In Networking luncheon and we are so glad that she joined us! Let's find out more about her:

My name is Jessica Du Quesne and I have been a Northwest Arkansas resident since 2003.  I am married and have three beautiful girls, so a lot of our time is spent in soccer, cheerleading, dance and Tae Kwon Do classes but we enjoy it very much because we are surrounded by the amazing people we have met in this area. My family and I enjoy outdoor activities like camping and canoeing, and here there are so many amazing places to do that.

I work for the American Cancer Society of Northwest Arkansas as the new community representative.  As a community representative I am in charge of recruiting and managing a team of volunteers while working to secure corporate sponsorships, keeping an eye on financial goals and helping the organization in reaching them. I am also in charge of helping execute the American Cancer Society's events such as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Relay For Life of University of Arkansas, and our annual Gala and social events.  I feel lucky to work with this organization as they are in the business of making a difference. The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. As the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing about $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, about 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year.
